The Honor Guard is looking for monetary donations that would enable us to purchase additional American Flags that will be used as internment/ casket Flags that will be given to the families of first responders that have served in the military. Military veterans are entitled to one American Flag that will be placed on their casket and then folded and given to a family member. Sometimes additional family such as children or siblings members would also like a Flag as a symbol of the deceased’s military service to his or her country. If we have a supply of additional Flags we are able to provide them at no charge. However our supply has been depleted due to the increased number of funerals the Honor Guard has participated in this year.
Each Flag meets government specifications (G-Spec) as outlined in Title 4 of the U.S. Flag Code. These Flags are also made in the USA and are purchased from the Veterans Flag Depot at a cost of $70 each.
We are looking to purchase at least 24 Flags in order to qualify for quantity pricing. To make a donation toward the purchase of these much needed Flags, mail your tax deductible donation to:
